often think that you
have to cut down on
your calories and
starve yourself.

there are some foods

Superfood # 1- Grapefruit
Grapefruit
is recently discovered as being
rich in antioxidants that can
eliminate the cancer-causing
free radicals in the body. It
is also rich in vitamin C which
can boost your immune system and
fiber that can aid your
digestion and fill you up for a
long time. This is one
superfood which can also repair
cells that are often damaged due
to age and toxins in the
environment.

2. Green Tea
Make
green tea a regular part of your
diet and you will benefit from
its rich anti-oxidant content.
It is a good substitute to
coffee, soda and other
caffeinated products. Drinking
2-3 cups of green tea everyday
can help you manage your blood
sugar, which is important in
keeping your weight maintained.

3. Sardines & Salmon
Omega-3 fatty acids found in
sardines are good for the
heart. Proteins in sardines
also boost your metabolism which
also increases your energy
level. Like sardines, salmon is
also a good source of omega-3
fatty acids, and both are
considered superfoods. If you
are not that fond of sardines or
salmon, try taking fish oil
supplements to add the essential
omega-3 fatty acids to your
diet. Either way add these
superfoods to help lose weight.
4. Almonds
Almonds and other nuts such as
cashew, peanuts, pecans and
pistachios are rich in protein
and fiber. Some studies show
that by simply eating at least a
dozen almonds daily, you can
decrease your weight
considerably. Avoid eating
roasted nuts that are often
cooked in oils rich in trans
fats and may have MSG added on
them. Eat raw, unshelled nuts
instead. This will also slow
your eating time down, making
you eat less. |

5. Coconut Oil
Use coconut oil as your cooking
oil and also as a substitute for
other fats that you take in,
such as butter or margarine.
The fatty acids in coconut oil
help the pancreas function
better which results to a more
efficient burning of energy.
Coconut oil also improves the
function of the thyroid, the
gland that affects your
metabolism.
You can usually find coconut oil
in the cooking oil section in
your local supermarket, or in
the health foods area. If you
can't find it all ask the
department manager!

Steaks and Other Red Meat
New research studies are showing
that a high protein diet can
lead to fat loss and improve fat
levels in cells. One study
recently published suggests that
eating red meat such as steaks
can help maintain lean tissues
and increase metabolism. This
can then result in burning more
fat and losing weight.
On the other hand you do not
want to over-indulge on the red
meat side, as it does contain a
fair amount of saturated fat and
it is harder on the digestive
system than other milder meats. |

Garlic
Garlic has been known
for centuries as a
superfood. It is often
recommended as a natural
medicine for
hypertension. Garlic
has antibacterial
properties that can help
you fight infections. It
also improves your
immune system and lowers
your blood cholesterol
which can aid in losing
weight.
So you see...
there is really no need
to starve yourself to
lose those unwanted
pounds of fat. These
superfoods, coupled with
a good exercise routine
will surely help you
lose weight the healthy
